A virtual mascot made by the CougAR Lab to help with promoting the campaign. After C_Bandit stole the webpages and vandalized the campaign fliers, he took it upon himself to track down the stolen information.
But he ran into a roadblock, both of the paths he found that led to the stolen information were outside of his reach.
The first method of retrieving the data involved an investigation of the fliers. He noticed that there was a small increase in the size of the document as it was sent to the printer.
This increase could be accounted for by the AR filters, but CougAR Cat did the math and he saw that C_Bandit added three QR codes each flier, not just two.
There was originally one QR code on each flier that was added by the lab, so where was the fourth QR code?
This became a dead end for CougAR Cat, as he is digital and cannot look at the printed fliers himself.
The second method for retrieving the stolen webpages that he found came from a discovery he made when looking at the website editing software.
The pages were never deleted.
If they had been, then the image files on those pages would have been deleted as well. Instead, it looks as if the pages simply had their names changed and were removed from the navbar.
After realizing this, CougAR Cat looked in the code of the website.
The new URLs of the webpages were encrypted behind some strange riddles.
CougAR Cat tried to solve the riddles himself before the campaign started, but he is only a few weeks old so they proved a little too difficult for him.
With this, CougAR Cat ran out of leads.
But he hopes that you can finish what he started.
